Has society ever worn a fur coat for the look and comfiness that is produces? Has society ever worn skin boots that were made from alligators and snakes for the compliments they get for the design? In the world today, animal skins and parts are worn by humans in order to look attractive and to appear popular. This entire idea is called poaching. We are consuming wildlife for fashion, traditional medicine, souvenirs, trophies, and bushmeat” (Goodall par. 1). Goodall is correct; animals are slaughtered for more than survival needs. Wildlife is continually being killed for the looks animal parts can bring. Little do outsiders know is these products that are made from wildlife come from helpless animals that are killed for no apparent reason other than for apparel purposes. Aside from the outside appearance, animals constantly get killed from experimenting to produce new medicines. These varying reasons to hunt and capture these creatures are cruel and unusual. There is no reason for animals to be killed to wear clothing, or to make new medicines. In the article “Using Animals in Medical Research,” the author states, “Classroom dissection exercise are evil; wearing leather are unethical”(Kingman et all par. 25). This statement is accurately stated in the article, “Using Animals in Medical Research.” Teachers who dissect animals and people who continue to wear fur from coats of animals and leather from animal skin are immoral. These actions are highly scorned in society and should not take place. Even though these thoughts are popular a part of society disagrees, arguing that animal experimentation and the usage of fur for clothing is declining. Laws and rules are impending to decrease this wicked activity. Most countries are using fewer animals than before and most are tightening up the laws that regulate such experimentation (Using Animals in Medical Research par. 1). This statement explains the counterclaim which argues that animals are notbeing used for such inane activities as animals once were. The utilization of animals for their fur and leather are decreasing and that animal experimentation in the classroom and in labs is decreasing also. My conclusion, then, is that if animal experimentation and the killing of animals for unbeneficial reasons decreases, animal population as well as many other factors will increase. While the amount of animal experimentation and the amount of deaths for animals fur or leather is diminishing, it is still a major problem in the world and should come to a complete stop. These actions that are executed by mankind are foolish; as well as, these actions are unfair. All things considered, the act of killing animals for clothing is intolerable, and animals who are used for experiments and whom are treated unfairly is unacceptable; animals should be treated equally to humans.
